This is Cindy and Gary dancing in their living room at 11:15pm, after a few margaritas and mixed berry cobbler (...and fried chicken, and black eyed peas, and corn bread...).

The first picture I ever saw of Gary was one where he was looking very matter-of-fact, holding a chicken drumstick and standing in his hallway with some deer antlers mounted on the wall above his head. I knew right then I wanted to meet him and Cindy, they seemed like my kind of people, and they were.

He is the chief of the fire department in Saratoga, TX, and Cindy runs the house and cooks the best food I've ever eaten. I had the pleasure of staying with them for a quick 24 hours, but I left happy (and full) and I can't wait to go back.

Once, I accidentally flashed a schoolbus while standing in the green area on the bottom left.

Modi (maw-dee) Meshell

It's 9:51am and last night I was up until 2am. 9:51 doesn't seem too bad, but I've already been up for a while and walked the dog.

The thing is I knew that there were some pictures of Modi I needed to look through. Specifically, pictures of Modi Meshell chewing gum in Traci Lynn's bathroom. And there are others, many others (without gum) that as I sit here now, I find myself gripping the desk to keep from falling out of my chair.  On the outside, Modi is as beautiful as can be, but it pales in comparison to how warm her heart is. She's a new mommy too.

I don't know why I slept so late!

Have a wonderful day.

You say "pluot," I say "plumcot"

100 degrees.

...

Orchids, Samba shoes, a mixed beverage and Puro Verde.

One slightly humid kitchen, perfectly befitting for arranging hair on a willing subject.

Jen, in sunlight, just about to blink.

The air smelled of fresh water and tin cans.

A bedroom that I've photographed in many times, and has changed color and
arrangement many more.

Emily

The best photos I ever get are taken in shoots under twenty minutes. Emily was coerced into "dropping by" and Traci and I managed to get some of our favorite photos of the day. Can you believe she has never modeled before? I just about fainted when I uploaded these and saw them big. I didn't do a single touch of post processing either. They are just straight out of the camera.

This is a very happy morning for me.

Oh!

Bean

Well it is certainly not the best quality photo I've ever taken, but when an opportunity like this happens,  camera setting priorities often fly out the window.

Here is Bean, standing at attention, waiting desperately for the cookie she was promised.

Love you Bean!

Stephen and Jessica Engagement

Jessica and Stephen are planning a circus themed wedding extravaganza in mid-October that could put a professional circus to shame. They've got several performers planned and all the guests are encouraged to dress up in circus related attire. (I'm working on a vintage mermaid costume, and Austin is going to be a bearded lady!). I'm so happy to be a part of this whole exciting celebration, and even more excited to shoot it.

For the engagement shoot, we looked for months for any suitable passing carnival or local festival, but in the end decided on the Historic Pleasure Pier in Galveston. Though I thought I wouldn't, I really loved this place. Trust me, the chicken strip basket alone is worth the forty five minute drive from downtown Houston to the coast.

Aren't they just sugar

Have a wonderful day!
