Tuesday Afternoon

Looking at these pictures that Traci Lynn and I shot on Tuesday reminds me of a fun shoot in Galveston about two years ago. We rented a room across from the beach, then ran to it barefoot at midnight with a bottle of champagne, cameras, and baby oil to see what would happen.

The results were far better than I expected. It was pitch black and my camera did not want to focus, but the end result was "accidentally fantastic." (All of which I blame on Traci for being very flexible, and bravely cartwheeling herself through the sandy blackness.)

I'll dig up those photos and post them as soon as I can.

Until then, here's Traci, myself, and Koschka on the floor with the living room lamp. No tequila involved; just a sweet grapefruit and 90s rap. It's amazing what music can make you do in front of a camera.

If you read this now,

...then you will know that I'll be at your house in 30 minutes to distract you from writing your paper. I will come with tequila, film and several cameras.

Cancun!

Austin and I just got back from a quick trip to Mexico to meet up with two of our best friends, Ben and CJ!!  We had so such a great time. We laughed and drank tequila and pina coladas for four days straight.

We stayed at a place called the Bellevue, and though it was shoddy, we loved it. Our bed pillows smelled like pure bleach and I felt like I was laying my head on balled up gym socks. The same hand-painted painting was all throughout the hotel, and there was a frosted crystal statue of a splayed, nude woman's torso in the lobby. The bartender had so many colored syrups that Ben asked if he was making snow cones. Best. Time. Ever.

Oh! And we also got to hold some newly hatched sea turtles! (Those I shot on film though, and will post soon). In the meantime, here's us in Cancun.

Jenn and Matt

Can somebody tell me what happened to October (and half of November!)?? While I try to figure it out,  enjoy these shots of Jenn and Matt on their wedding day!

Have a great rest of the holiday week!

Key to my Louisiana Heart

Wooo! I was swamped with weddings in October! Five in total, one of which I was a guest, though I WISH I would have worked it. It was at the super elegant Brennan's in downtown Houston, and the bride was just extraordinarily beautiful. (You can catch a peek of her in the fifth photo down!). I went as the date of one of my besties, Melissa. I didn't even know the bride and groom, but you never would of known it because they were so warm and welcoming to me. Both of them gave me hugs! I just love being in the company of good people.

What also topped off this day was that they hired a 5-piece brass band from NOLA named the Kinfolks, who played their entire wedding. I danced myself all over the dance floor with this nice elderly man, and couldn't of been happier. ...At the end of the day we even did a second line! Mel and I were like kids in a candy store prancing our Southern-butts down the street with handkerchiefs flying in the air.

Best day ever.

I *love* that his tie says "New Orleans."
Two things I would have if I were rich:

1. A person to rub my feet every day

2. A brass band to play for me every morning while I got dressed. (Sorry Austin!)

Have an exceptional day!!
